A study of bees, honeybees and bumblebees: part 1

Standard

Hello there!

I have started with a bigger study of bees and bumblebees in the shape of three paintings. Here are some close ups from this project. I used pencil to sketch the objects and then I went in with watercolor.

I wish you all a good evening, night, morning, afternoon or day wherever you may be on this earth.

Bees, Honeybees and Bumblebees

Hello there!

Now you can really feel autumn in the air and the leaves are shifting color swiftly. Even though I won’t focus on autumn and the cold today rather about summer and bees, all sorts of bees. I hope that I can show you some more of my upcoming project when I get further along. I am doing a study about bees and how important they are in nature and to us. So today I started with sketching some different species of bees.

Blue horse

Standard

Hi there! The snow has been gone for some days now and the signs of spring are getting more and more obvious. I have a light and colorful watercolor painting I made that has a spring feeling to it.  The painting is a somewhat different take on the traditional Swedish Dala horse (a wooden horse figurine from the province Dalarna, traditionally red) I usually take photos of my work process and it’s no different this time.

For this painting i used:

A pencil, for sketching

Eraser

Ink pen, for the outlines

Maskingfluid, to cover the parts I didnt want to be blue

Watercolor paint, winsor and Newton, schmincke

Watercolor Paper, The Langton Prestige

Watercolor paintbrush

I wish you all a good evening, night, morning, afternoon or day wherever you may be on this earth.

Spring in snow

Spring in snow

Hello there!

It’s been talked about that spring was on its way and flowers such as snowdrops have been blooming. Some day ago ice cold winds and snow appeared.

I maybe have mentioned this before, but i have a Watercolor sketchbook where I do smaller drawings and illustrations. The cold weather made me think that it could be nice to see some signs of spring and summer, which I have created in my Watercolor book. I like to have small projects or do a little drawing a day. I love to depict Nature and especially flowers, so that is What I mostly paint.

We had some very beautiful red tulips at home some week ago and so I couldn’t resist to paint one of them as a fast drawing.

I wish you all a good day, evening, night, morning or afternoon wherever you may be on this planet.

New year New projects

New year New projects

Hello everybody!

This is my third post during 2018 and I would like to share my current and coming art projects with you. I have started my craft year with a big watercolor project, that I will work on from time to time. I got the idea from a present I gave my mother for Christmas. It was a very lovely and colorful puzzle. When we assembled it, I thought that it would be fun to try to make my own image for a puzzle and so the project began. I have also been thinking about creating my own calendar with hand painted pictures for each month of the year.

Here are some photos of my project and how it’s coming along so far.

I hope you all had a nice time in this post. I wish you all a good evening, night, morning, afternoon or day wherever you may be in this world.

A bright Christmas and New Year greeting

Standard

Hello there everybody!

In this post I thought it was time to show you this year’s Christmas card. For this year I chose to only do one motive instead of three, like the previous year. The motive has a lot of bright colors rather than the traditional red color tones, it’s different but it still has a Christmas feeling to it. That’s one of the reasons I like it so much.  It’s made with Van gogh and Schmincke watercolors, Sakura Pigma Micron fineliner pencils and Langton Prestige paper.
