So, this is my first blog post this year, the new year 2017. I believe I wrote on Christmas eve that I would soon show you all some of my handmade Christmas gifts and I should think that it’s about time that I do it now. Therefore, will this post be about handmade gifts that I already have given away because now Christmas is more or less over.
I crocheted this flower bookmark for my grandmother because she absolutely loves to read and she has almost always more than one book at a time. That’s why I thought I would be appropriate to give her a handmade bookmark so she can keep track on what page she is on when she switches between books. I also made a hat for my mom in crochet but I sadly do not have a photo of it yet, but I will see if I can get a picture of it.
These clay charms were made for two of my friends. I like to have a story behind the things that I create. I don’t want the gifts to be random I want them to have a personal meaning for the receiver of the gift, of course I can only accomplish that if I know the person though. One of my friends she is studying to become a dentist and therefore I made a tooth and a toothbrush out of FIMO clay for her. Then I attached the two charms together and contacted them to a blue ribbon so it would function as a necklace. The waffle with the strawberry is for another friend and she really likes waffles and so I thought I have to make her a waffle that she can walk around with all the time.
Some projects I’m working on right now are some more of the Swedish princess cake keychains and clay frames. I have also tried to follow World Watercolor Group’s art challenge this month so I thought that I will post the first week’s drawings tomorrow.
I hope you all had a lovely time in this post and on my blog.
I wish you all a good evening, night, morning, afternoon or day wherever you may be on this earth.
It’s been a while since i wrote last but now I’m here. I would like to wish you all a very Happy and Merry New Year, i hope you all have a nice time and a good new year. So i wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!, with a little sketch of mine.
I hope you all have a wonderful evening, night day or morning this New Year’s Eve wherever you may be on this earth.
Hi everybody! Today I’m back with a post sooner than usual.
I don’t know if you noticed or if I told you before that I enjoy baking. Cakes and cookies are what I love the most to bake but I occasionally also throw together a bread or two. Sometimes I make some extra effort with decorating the baked gods and sometimes I just want to eat as fast as possible. When it’s someone’s birthday or some other special celebration my family always turns to me for this task and I only think it’s fun. A couple of days ago exactly this occurred because it was my brother’s birthday. He wished for a carrot cake with Philadelphia frosting and that’s what he also got from me. I usually make carrot cake whenever so it’s not only reserved for special occasions but because it was for a birthday this time I had to add something extra. So, I made some type of homemade sugar paste and created carrots as cake toppers. This is something that I always wanted to try but never had a reason or the patience to do it during an ordinary day. I am however very happy and pleased that I finally tried it. The birthday carrot cake was one of the best carrot cakes I baked and so very delicious. I know that some people have trouble with having carrots in a cake but in my experience when they well tried it they usually love it. Carrot cake is something special in our family. Our grandmother used to make for us and it is a memory of our childhood.
I hope that you all had a very nice read.
I wish you all a good evening, night, morning and day wherever you may be on this earth.
Hi to you all!
Today I thought that I would upload something different to my recent posts, so that’s why you will see some of my latest drawings and doodles. It was just some days ago that I discovered drawing before bedtime or actually in bed, I just got the idea one evening when I didn’t feel like reading. So then I thought why can’t I just draw in bed? and so I gave it a try and I completely love it. I think I will call it bedtime drawing but of course there is probably more people than me that does this. For me this was almost like a revelation, to use my creativity and accomplish things at the same time as it helps me to fall asleep. I can absolutely recommend this as a stress relief before entering the world of dreams. So here is a sampel of my first bedtime drawings, not all of them are finished yet it is an ongoing process. The doodles are created with different sizes of ink pens.
Apart from drawing at a late hour I also do it whenever I can or have the urge for it. These drawings are from my Moleskin sketchbook. They were created some while ago but I thought that I could show you them anyway. The first one is a drawing from this summer and it’s created from a bridge with the view of the mainland. The second one is a fashion illustration I made when I wanted to improve my skills at drawing the human body and clothes. The last one was an idea I had that I would paint all the places I visited during a year and to add the key moments of those trips as illustrations, so this was one of the pages from this idea.
I hope you had a fun time in this blogpost and that I’ll see you in my next one soon.
Now I wish you all a god evening, night, day or morning wherever you may be one this earth.
This drawing is also one of the one i made yesterday. I wanted to try a different kind of cupcakes not the usual with a cream top.
It is almost finished but not yet.
