I made this jewelry set a year ago and posted pictures of it. I also made a small tutorial for this jewelry set but it never got posted. So, i thought that is was about time that I upload this. The tutorial is focusing on how to make the clay bead but i also mention the supplies needed for the whole project.
Tools I used for this project:
- dotting tool (it’s originally for nail art)
- Wooden skewer
- sewing needle or pin
- small knife
- Polymer clay
- Wooden beads
- Wet wipes
- Jewelry thread
- Jewelry lock
- Jump rings
- Earing jewelry pieces
- FIMO Glossy Varnish
- Create the color you want for your project by mixing different colored clay together. You need two colors for this project, one for the base and one for the decoration.
- Use a pasta machine or a rolling pin to make the clay thin.
- Cover the wooden beads with clay. There will most likely become air bubbles in the clay. Try to get them out by making holes with a needle.
- When you covered the bead evenly with clay use wet wipes to remove dust and other particles from the surface.
- Roll the second color of clay into lengths with your hands.
- Depending on how big you want your decoration on the bead to be divide the roll in desirable size. Roll each piece into preferably equal balls.
- Put the balls on the bead in whatever way you like, I wanted to create a flower shapes throughout the bead.
- Use the needle or dotting tool to pull out the balls and create more depth to the design.
- When you are content with your creation clean it very carefully with wet wipes.
- Then bake them in the oven according to the instructions on the package.
- After they are baked and cooled put the beads on sticks, wooden skewers or something similar and paint with glossy varnish. Let this dry according to the instructions on the jar.
- When the varnish has dried you can start to assemble the whole jewelry.
I wish you alla a good day, afternoon, evening, night or morning wherever you may be on this planet.
This post is going to be focusing around a watercolor project I did some week ago, for my grandfather’s birthday. I don’t know if you remember but last year I decorated a box with clay for him and so I thought that he could get a painting this year instead. His birthday is in September and during this time it’s the biggest apple season where we live. Apples were therefore a suiting motive for this painting. So, I searched in my computer for photos of the fruit from my grandparent’s garden and I found a very pretty one. I took photos of the projects different steps so you all can see the rough sketch to a finished painting. I used Winsor & Newton, Schmincke and Van Gogh watercolors for the painting and paper from Cartiera Magnani. The outlines are made with Pigma Micron Fineliner, in different sizes.
I hope you all have a good evening, night, morning or day wherever you may be on this earth.
So, this is my first blog post this year, the new year 2017. I believe I wrote on Christmas eve that I would soon show you all some of my handmade Christmas gifts and I should think that it’s about time that I do it now. Therefore, will this post be about handmade gifts that I already have given away because now Christmas is more or less over.
I crocheted this flower bookmark for my grandmother because she absolutely loves to read and she has almost always more than one book at a time. That’s why I thought I would be appropriate to give her a handmade bookmark so she can keep track on what page she is on when she switches between books. I also made a hat for my mom in crochet but I sadly do not have a photo of it yet, but I will see if I can get a picture of it.
These clay charms were made for two of my friends. I like to have a story behind the things that I create. I don’t want the gifts to be random I want them to have a personal meaning for the receiver of the gift, of course I can only accomplish that if I know the person though. One of my friends she is studying to become a dentist and therefore I made a tooth and a toothbrush out of FIMO clay for her. Then I attached the two charms together and contacted them to a blue ribbon so it would function as a necklace. The waffle with the strawberry is for another friend and she really likes waffles and so I thought I have to make her a waffle that she can walk around with all the time.
Some projects I’m working on right now are some more of the Swedish princess cake keychains and clay frames. I have also tried to follow World Watercolor Group’s art challenge this month so I thought that I will post the first week’s drawings tomorrow.
I hope you all had a lovely time in this post and on my blog.
I wish you all a good evening, night, morning, afternoon or day wherever you may be on this earth.
Hi there once again! Today it seems like I will publish two posts. These gifts have already been given so I thought I would let you all see it.
So I made small swedish princess cakes out of crochet and then I connected them to keychain rings. I later attatched, to the keychain, small handmade Fimo Clay charms with my initials and the namn of my website. Then I printed a gift box template from Pinterest and cut out the box. I used double-sided tape to put the box together and some string for decoration. I created these gifts for my boyfriends teachers as a Christmas gift.
I wish you all once again a great holiday and a good afternoon, evening, night, morning or day wherever you may be on this earth.
Today I thought that I would share another one of my handmade gifts in clay. This time it’s a little bit bigger than the last craft I showed you but this one has so much more details. It took me quite a while to make this frame in clay, I would say maybe two days. When I say two day’s I literally mean that I sat for almost two whole days from start to finish, so my eyes were hurting quite a bit. I always say that the most fun thing with crafts and creating is to see what you can accomplish by yourself, at least that’s what I think. The process of creating can also be fun but I am always looking forward to the finished product and am very pleased with this photo frame. It’s a gift for a friend that just got their first child, a little baby girl, so I thought that a little cute photo frame could be a nice gift for the first time parents.
I started this project by selecting a fitting picture frame in wood. Then I covered the front and the side parts of the frame with FIMO clay. Then the small creations started to take come to life one by one. I wanted the theme for this craft to be forest animals and therefore I choose animals such as hedgehog, bear and squirrel to be on the frame. When all the clay parts were added the frame got a sun vacation in the oven. After that some more details were painted on with acrylic paint and the last touch was to cover the baked clay with FIMO glossy varnish. I am very happy with this clay creation and I hope that the persons it’s intended for will like it to. I created the illustration in the frame mainly on the computer with a Wacom tablet.
When I’m still on the topic about children and nurseries I would like to show you a little bunny pillow alternative a stuffed animal that I sewed. I’ve seen a lot of this type on Pinterest so I thought that I would give it a try myself so this is my version. I think that the fabrics are absolutely adorable and that’s why I picked them for this handcraft. The little bunny will possibly accompany the animal clay picture frame but I’m not sure yet so we just have to wait and see.
I wish that you had a nice time and read with this blog post.
Hope you all have a nice evening, night, day or morning where ever you may be on this earth.
Hello all you people out there! I thought that I should update my blog a little bit extra now after such a long break from blogging. When I create something if it’s in clay or some other material it’s usually a present for somebody. I like to give away handmade things because to me it feels more special than something store-bought.
So this post is about a handmade gift just like the previous two posts I submitted. This time I made something a little bit smaller, a jewelry-set, a bracelet and a matching pair of earrings. The gift is made for someone who helped me a lot with different things. That’s why I want to thank her by giving away something I hope will be special.
The bracelet consists of handmade fimo beads and bought white pearls and all of the beads of the earrings are handmade by me. The technique I used on the beads are in some places called embroidery or applique. When I first bumped into this technique I thought it looked so complicated and hard but when I well tried it my opinion changed. I will try to make a tutorial on clay embroidery/applique the next time I use the technique but I will also show you how to save clay when you are making beads. I hope that you are interested in this or maybe you have other suggestions for what you would like to see? Then please do tell me.
I did not only make the present but also the gift boxes for the jewelry. I used scrapbooking paper witch a have a whole bunch of and created small paper gift bags. Last years I made several of these bags for an advents calendar we had at home. The gift bags are very useful and can have many purposes, it’s only the imagination that sets the limitations. Maybe a tutorial for this can be appropriate when Christmas is getting closer or new year’s eve.
I wish you enjoyed Reading and viewing this post and now I hope you all have a great day, night or morning wherever you may be on this earth.
It’s been an incredibly long time since i posted anything here on my little blog. I have decided to give it a new try and hopefully i sticking with it this time. I have still been doing my crafty things, but I have some periods when I draw more and some when i create in clay more. So the content in this blog is not only going to be devoted to one type of craft but several. Right now I’m in my clay period so it’s only fimo clay that’s on my mind but of course I also paint and create other things ocasionally.
So the first thing I’m going to show you is a present i made just some days ago for my grandfather’s birthday. It’s a wooden box and one of the side are covered with clay figures and are suppose to resemble my grandparents when they were younger. I sadly don’t have a tuturial on this one but I will try to make with my next fimo clay project.
I hope you enjoyed this little reading session and my clay craft.
Have a nice evening, day or morning depending on where you are on this earth
