Since I was absent for such a long time before this September it’s maybe not a surprise that I have a lot of older crafts that I would like to show you all. So every once in a while I thought that I will submit some posts that revolve around some of my older projects but I will of course also come with new stuff.
The craft that I will show you in this post is my handmade graduation invitations. I made these last year for my own graduation. I have a thing for butterflies and I have always loved these small creatures. I loved them so much as a child, that my childhood bedroom had to be covered with butterfly wallpaper.
I got the idea and design for this project from Pinterest, but I drew my own stencils so I got the invitations exactly how I wanted them to be. I made the cards from hard white hard scrapbooking paper and then I decorated the butterflies with patterned scrapbooking paper. The envelopes are that I used are the usual type that I think you can find almost anywhere. I made a stencil of the envelope’s inside, then I used it to cut out the envelopes shape on the printed papers. To decorate the inside of the envelopes with the printed paper I used double-sided tape. I put some string around the cards to finish of the invitations summery look. I thought that it would be more fun if the cards were different, so that everyone received a specialized invitation.
I hope you had a nice time in this little post.
I wish you all a good evening, night, morning or day wherever you may be on this earth.
This weekend a long and quite testing project came to its end. For a long time, my mom wished to have a Moroccan mosaic garden table and now finally this year we decided to get one. But I also thought that I would give it a try myself. Therefore, the end of the summer I started with a mosaic table, my first ever mosaic project. At first I couldn’t decide what tiles and color combination that I would use. After a lot of research and inspiration on sites like Pinterest, an image of the table appeared in my mind. I bought small mosaic stones on sheets in various shades of green and blue. An old garden table, that was in need of a remodeling would become my guinea pig during this process. The table top is made of glass and that’s why I had to use a special multifunctional glue for outside use instead of the ordinary sealant. I also had to think about the weight of the mosaic of the tabletops material.
The first step I took with this table was to clean the surface so the glue could stick properly. I wanted to have a complex pattern and I wanted to decide the color combination of the mosaics. Therefore, I had to cut out all the stones from the sheets and then sort them in to piles according to color. I should say that only this process took a long time and if I would do it again I would not buy mosaic sheets only loose stones, at least when you are dealing with more detailed layouts.
The second step consisted of sketching the design on the glass surface. I had different round objects that I used as stencils to create circles. Before jumping into the gluing I place mosaic as outlines around every circle and then I started to glue them to the table. It was very sticky and detailed but it didn’t make it easier that I had to use gloves to protect my hands. I found that a big tweezer was very helpful when placing the mosaic in the glue. This step of the project was the most time consuming and took me maybe one week with late nights. It was important to me that all the circles were distinctive and of course some time also flew by when I tried to make this possible. I actually finished up with the gluing part some month ago but however there is a third step and you could say that it is the most crucial stage.
The third and last step was to use grout between all the spaces. I would think that it wouldn’t take that long time and that much effort but it was more work than one can expect. To fill in the spaces with grout approximately took an afternoon because you also need to polish of the grout from the mosaic stones witch can be a little tricky. Before you start putting on the grout put some masking tape to protect the table stands edges. But now two months later the table top seems to be finished maybe some extra details will be added later on but basically its done. The details that I mentioned was that I possibly want to change the color of the table stand from grey to black, but of that I’m not quite sure yet. I also decorated two folding chairs with the same mosaic, this time I kept the sheet on the back because the design is simpler than the table. The chairs are in desperate need of a new splash of paint and that is something I will do when the time is given.
I wrapped up the project this weekend and now today mom mothers real Moroccan table arrived. I compared the two tables but it’s quite hard to do so because they are to unlike for it to be a fair comparison. I like both of them but I dared to say that I adore mine a bit more.
If you see something fluffy in the pictures is my dog, he is always around when things are occuring.
List of supplies

Now when I’ve been talking about the bought table I thought that i might as well have to show you a picture of it.
I hope that this post was inspiring to see and read. Now I wish you all a good day, afternoon, evening or morning wherever you may be on this earth.
Hi to you all!
Today I thought that I would upload something different to my recent posts, so that’s why you will see some of my latest drawings and doodles. It was just some days ago that I discovered drawing before bedtime or actually in bed, I just got the idea one evening when I didn’t feel like reading. So then I thought why can’t I just draw in bed? and so I gave it a try and I completely love it. I think I will call it bedtime drawing but of course there is probably more people than me that does this. For me this was almost like a revelation, to use my creativity and accomplish things at the same time as it helps me to fall asleep. I can absolutely recommend this as a stress relief before entering the world of dreams. So here is a sampel of my first bedtime drawings, not all of them are finished yet it is an ongoing process. The doodles are created with different sizes of ink pens.
Apart from drawing at a late hour I also do it whenever I can or have the urge for it. These drawings are from my Moleskin sketchbook. They were created some while ago but I thought that I could show you them anyway. The first one is a drawing from this summer and it’s created from a bridge with the view of the mainland. The second one is a fashion illustration I made when I wanted to improve my skills at drawing the human body and clothes. The last one was an idea I had that I would paint all the places I visited during a year and to add the key moments of those trips as illustrations, so this was one of the pages from this idea.
I hope you had a fun time in this blogpost and that I’ll see you in my next one soon.
Now I wish you all a god evening, night, day or morning wherever you may be one this earth.
I have taken some picture when I am on my walks with my dogs and I found some really good ones that I want to show you guys. I have so many photos of flowers but here is just a pinch of them.
So now at last the summer is here with its sunshine and beautiful day but of course the rainy days to. All of this is a part of the summer and thats what I’ve been looking forward to.
Today it was one of the warmest days i think, but maybe it was also becaouse I was working in the garden. I have finally placed the stones in the place i want them and then I have to use some concrete to make it stable. So its been a hard working day today and tomorow I will probably continue with it and then I have to to a make-over to one of my flowerbeds. So hoppefully I will be soon finished.
But I am also thinking about to make like some decorations for the garden. Maybe some lanterns of some jars or cans and I have decied to try once again to make things in concrete.
I got souch a wounderful idea today when I was working in the garden. Its a very different way to have your flowers. When I have made this ideas to reality I will take a photo and share with you.
Now im in this kind of state where I paint maquerade masks. I find them so beautiful and fun to paint them. There are so many kinds, shapes and sizes of masks. But I have also started to make a mask of my own. So far I’ve only made the base but I will decorated it. I just have a hard time to decied how I want it to look like ( there are so many ideas in my head but soon it will come to me )
I have more drawing thatv i will submit soon. This mask drawing is not finished yet.
Its been a long time since I wrote something but I will try to be here more often.
So finally the spring was here but now the summer has taken over and its is getting really warm here. All the flowers blossomed in like a week so its was so beautiful here. But of corse the are coming even more flowers. I have planted a lot of them but not all them wanted to come this year. Flowers I planted last year is blomming now and its is so fun to watch somthing grow from a little plant to a big plant.
I started to paint a flower in watercolor today. So hoppefully I will continue with the painting maybe this evening or another day very soon.
Have a nice evening/day
See you soon
I started with this skirt some days ago and now it is almost finished. I wanted it to be finished for my trip, so I can wear it. The original idea was that i was going to sew a dress, but I haven’t had the time, so I made a skirt insted.
